McGL Fesh 2018 Medals

Two weeks to go!

Two weeks to go! 2000 2000 Isabel Yorke

This time in two weeks the McGL feis will be well under way, and we’ve got some great features in store!

Every competitor will receive one of our new medals!
First, second and third place medals will be given out in the graded trophy reels, preliminary and open championships, with all other competitors receiving a copper and black medal in these competitions.
We hope you agree they will look amazing on your mantel piece, trophy cabinet or medal board!
As usual, trophies will also be given out for first-third in graded solo dances, with a sash for first place in the trophy reel. All our grade results will be given out using our decorated podium area in the grade hall.
Cups and sashes will also be awarded for first-fifth place in preliminary and open championships.

Adjudicator feedback in Graded Trophy Reels

Another new feature for our graded competitions is that adjudicators will give comments for each dancer competing in the trophy reel. We hope this constructive feedback will prove valuable for our graded dancers and help guide their practice.

Panel of nine adjudicators for Open Championships

All open championships (running on Saturday) will be run using the popular system of adjudication by a panel of nine adjudicators (three for each round).

Free Photographer

This year’s photography services will be provided by Peter Langman. Peter will be available all weekend for capturing great moments in social environments and during awards. The best thing is that all these photos will be available to download for FREE after the event.

Social Media Areas

Once again, we will have various social media areas up around the venue, to provide a great backdrop for your selfies! Check in and post away on FB, Instagram and Snapchat! #mcglfeis2018

All in all, we can’t wait for what is set to be a busy and exciting weekend, full of amazing dancing. We hope to provide a great environment to allow all our competitors to dance to their full potential. Please check out our open feis page for full syllabus, provisional timetable and entry forms. Both boys are now two-times All Ireland Champions!

We had a further two podium positions: Niall Forrest (2nd in the Senior Men) and Gavina Zuccharello (4th in the U19 Ladies)

…And another two finishing in the top ten! Ellie-Kate McCarthy (U12 Girls) and Molly O’Neill (Senior Ladies). Ellie-Kate also won her solo heavy jig!

We are so proud of all our other dancers who went and competed in this world-class field. We had some excellent medals, recalls and personal bests!
