We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who came and supported our feis this year. We tried out a number of new things this year, which we think were successful overall. There’s always things to work on for next year too – so we will keep striving to improve the “feis experience”! Here’s a round-up of our weekend supported by the wonderful photography of Peter Langman, who worked tirelessly for a week after the feis to collate all the photos. Congratulations to all our amazing competitors. The standard of competition was unreal this year, with dancers having traveled from all over the world! Not everyone can win, and not everyone will have walked away entirely happy with their results. However, it was wonderful to see all dancers behaving with respect for their competitors. Because of this we enjoyed a fabulous atmosphere all weekend. It was lovely to see great friendships showing through in the photos.
Of course, we are extra proud of our seven McGL champions!
We’d like also to thank our wonderful panel of adjudicators. They were constantly on the move around the halls this year, since each championship round saw a new panel of three. All championship and prelim marks packs can be downloaded from our Open Feis page. The adjudicators also worked hard in the grades hall, writing comments for all our graded dancers to work on. We hope you found your comments useful!
One of the things we love about open feiseanna is the live music that is played so tirelessly throughout the weekend. Thank you to Dean, Majella and Aidan for providing ours.
Support from friends and family is an essential ingredient that goes into a dancer’s success. We’d like to thank all the supporters who gave up their weekends to make up our fabulous audience. Especially those mums who gave up their mothers day! Here’s some lovely moments that Pete captured.
It was also great to see teachers working hard to support their dancers, as always.
Last but not least, the event literally could not run without the help of our amazing team of parents, friends, family, dancers, ex-dancers and other helpers, who did not stop from Friday to Sunday! Thank you, and please keep the date free for next year! ;-P
